Press Release: Ondo Finance expands Risk and Compliance team, adding additional Goldman alum

Greenwich, Connecticut – Ondo Finance, a leading player in onchain finance, today announced it had hired Chris Tyrrell as its Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. Mr. Tyrrell was previously the Head of Digital Assets Compliance and Head of Data Management Risk at Goldman Sachs, and joins fellow Goldman alumni Justin Schmidt, President, and Nathan Allman, CEO, at Ondo.

Ondo currently offers three tokenized products: OUSG, providing exposure to US Treasuries; OMMF, providing exposure to US money market funds; and USDY, providing a yield-bearing alternative to conventional stablecoins. Together, they enable investors from around the world to gain exposure to key US-based asset classes in tokenized form.

In addition to being a leading provider of tokenized US Treasuries and Money Market Funds, Ondo has designed its products with improved compliance and risk management at their core. Ondo’s technology that runs the Flux Protocol, for example, is a decentralized lending protocol that enables processes to respect an underlying asset’s permissions, including mandatory KYC.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Ondo team,” said Mr. Tyrrell. “Nathan, Justin and I share an important vision: bringing institutional risk management and compliance to tokenized Real World Assets. I look forward to working closely with the entire Ondo Ecosystem to safely and securely grow this next generation of high-quality assets.”

Since working with Allman and Schmidt at Goldman, Tyrrell served as Americas CCO at and was most recently Chief Compliance Officer at the crypto exchange EDX Markets, which was founded by Citadel and Fidelity.

“We are very excited to have Chris joining our team,” said Nathan Allman, founder and CEO of Ondo. “Delivering Ondo’s institutional-grade tokenized products requires navigating complex and uncertain risk, compliance, and regulatory issues. When I was on the Digital Assets team at Goldman Sachs, I relied heavily on Chris for guidance in all of these areas. He uniquely combines deep practical knowledge of the space with a breadth of experience and a creative problem-solving approach.”

This most recent announcement comes on the heels of several major announcements by Ondo over the past few weeks such as its strategic roadmap, which lays out its view of the current state of the industry and its high-level plans over the next 24 months.
